Liquor and Gaming
Privileged Business Licensing Division
Liquor and Gaming business licenses are “privileged” licenses, which require a finding that the applicant or applicants are suitable prior to the issuance of the license. The suitability of an applicant is determined by the results of criminal background and financial investigations that are completed by the Department and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Important Notice to Applicants: Effective March 1, 2023, the Department will no longer mail approval letters for Liquor and Gaming applications.
[[EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 18, 2025 ]]
All Liquor & Gaming appointments will be scheduled for a 2-hour time slot. If application is complete, then the Business License (BL) Specialist will process the application during this appointment.
If application is incomplete, it will not be accepted. The BL Specialist will review the full application and will let you know all missing required information including license fees.
Tentatively, applications for Tavern, Liquor Store and Preliminary Determination for Location Suitability will not be processed at the time of appointment.
[[INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.]]
